HIPAA Disclaimer

1. Scope

This HIPAA Disclaimer applies to the use of Lalax Systems' AI Diagnostic Imaging, Protein Designer, and CRISPR Guide Designer services. These services may process health-related data as defined under HIPAA regulations.

2. Not a Covered Entity

Lalax Systems is not a HIPAA-covered entity nor a business associate under HIPAA unless expressly agreed in writing. Users and customers are responsible for determining whether their use of our services constitutes protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA.

3. No Patient Relationship

Use of our diagnostic and bioinformatics tools does not establish a provider-patient relationship. All AI-generated analyses and recommendations are for informational and research purposes only and must be reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals.

4. Data Security for Health Data

While we implement industry-standard security measures (encryption, access controls, audit logging), users transmission of PHI through our services is at their own risk. We recommend de-identifying health data before use when possible.

5. Business Associate Agreement

If you require a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for HIPAA compliance, please contact legal@lalax.com. BAAs are available for Enterprise plans with additional security requirements.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our services for:

• Making autonomous clinical decisions without human oversight
• Storing or processing PHI without appropriate safeguards
• Using diagnostic outputs as the sole basis for treatment decisions
• Violating any applicable healthcare regulations

7. No Medical Advice

The AI diagnostic tools are designed to assist qualified healthcare professionals and researchers. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified medical professional for health-related decisions.
